And It Begins Again. . .

OPENING DAY CEREMONIES
BASEBALL SEASON 2010

Here is Kris with his FARM YANKEES all lined up and ready to enter the field!

I will mention that I am TEAM MOM again!
I know.
I said last year was it.
But when no one else volunteered, I just had to do it!
Besides I really, really, really, wanted to make another team banner!

So here they are. . .
taking the field!

Before the ceremonies began they held a "wiffle ball" game.
The coaches of the teams were the players and
the players were the coaches!

Kale's name was drawn to be one of the coaches
and he was really excited!
(Oh yah, he's on the AAA Dodgers)

He took his job very seriously!

BUT,
the best part of Opening Day was getting FREE BANANA SPLIT coupons and using them that very day!

BRING ON BASEBALL!
We have our first game TONIGHT!

BIRTHDAY GIRL

I've been going through a lot of my mom's things the past few months.
A little while ago I came across this picture
and today is the perfect day to post it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Can we please bring back the "birthday dress" tradition?

HELPER?

She is my little helper. . .
and this is her job.

And nobody else better even think about doing it for her,
or helping her in any way.

She runs from the other side of the house when she hears the dishwasher being opened and the dishes being taken out.

She says:
"Rara aw"
translated to
Kara's job

She does a GREAT JOB!
I know you wish your silverware drawer could look like mine does. . .

Big Trucks and Little Boys

A little while ago I was in the kitchen.
My boys were outside helping their dad with yard work and playing basketball in between.
I heard a sound like a freight train outside.
I ran to the window and there was this gigantic truck.
But what was even more fun was to see Kristopher's face glued to the truck.
In complete awe.
I don't even know what the truck does,
but it captured my son's complete attention
for all of about 30 seconds!
Which for a 5 year old can be sometimes really hard to do!

WINTER OLYMPICS

We had so much fun this year with the OLYMPICS!
We don't eat dinner with the TV on. . .
except while watching the OLYMPICS!

And to make the OLYMPICS even more fun -
the boys are sporting their very own VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC HATS!
(compliments of signing up for Dish Network)

Kale's favorite - Snowboarding
Kris's favorite - Flipping through the air (Aerials)
Kyle's favorite - Ice Dancing or Curling (he couldn't decide)
My favorite - Having Kristopher ask when Michael Phelps was going to be on

Shhh. . .don't tell Kale I blogged this. . .

BLUE AND GOLD BANQUET

Here's our cake to celebrate 100 years of scouting!
A blue and yellow football!

When Kristopher came in and saw Kale and I stirring frosting colors together for our cake he says this to his brother. . .

"Ohhh Kale only girls make cakes!
You should wear Kara's apron!"

So Kale showed him. . .
and put on that very apron!

It made Kristopher roll on the ground in laughter!
I was dying as Kale was twirling around the kitchen until Kristopher couldn't breath from laughing so hard.

Now how did I get him to pose for a picture?
He said he'd take a picture if he could stay up until midnight tonight!
"Deal" I said. . .
(knowing full well that by 9:30 he will come to me and say how tired he is and we'll have a little conversation about how maybe it would be better if he just goes to bed and we'll stay up until midnight another night when he's not so tired)
But he did say. . .
"You better not put this on your BLOG!"

Oops.
I couldn't resist.

Aahhh Yahhh!

So a few weeks ago the kids brought home this
KIDS SMART SAFETY FLYER
from school.

A safety course on how to keep kids safe offered at a local Karate Studio.
I signed the boys up and we went to the safety class.

Now the boys were expecting to learn some crazy karate moves and though the class was great on how to be aware of your surroundings and was very informative on how to react to strangers there was absolutely no karate involved in the class.

I had two very disappointed boys.

However, as part of the safety class they were offering two free weeks of karate classes if we signed up that day.

So I did. . .

And for two weeks four nights a week my boys got to yell, and kick, and punch and not only was it was allowed it was actually encouraged!

The boys had a blast and they even got a free uniform out of it. . .
but baseball starts next week and me not even wanting to attempt  "supermom" status is not willing to do both, let alone afford both so we put the Karate uniforms in the dress up box and have already started cleaning off the baseball cleats!
